Thankfully you got a loaner so you can drive around but that really sucks. Thankfully not much damage can really result from this opposed to the vice-versa situation of gasoline in a diesel car. Have you had any bad experiences like this with vandalism or tampering at your complex ? Any cameras you could check perhaps ?

questions for you owners...

the push to release fuel filler door and no gas cap....is that always accessible? when you are away from the car? or does the filler door lock somehow? like do you have to be near the car with fob in pocket to release the door?

this now has me concerned about what could happen if this is as easily accessible as it sounds.

Has anyone noticed any of these issues with the 2017 Civics?

I believe that is correct for modern pumps, but the OP may be dealing with older pumps, will check it out next visit.

Unfortunately there are no cameras at my apartment complex. I will check tomorrow if there has been any tampering with the office.

check the gas station, I remember once putting a diesel pump into my daily driver while not paying attention and it would not fit into the fuel filler neck. Go back to the gas station and see if the fuel nozzle on the diesel pump fits into your fuel filler neck, I don't think it will work.

I'd be very doubtful about diesel fuel being in your tank unless the gas station was messed up with diesel in their gasoline storage tanks ?

My car is supposed to be ready tomorrow. I will go back to the gas station and see if the diesel fuel nozzle fits into my car. Good idea.

So did you contact you insurance company, I know mine will cover this even if I was the one that made the mistake, as long as it wasn't intentional.

Fear, the fuel door locks when the car is locked I have recently purchased a 2016 EX and was worried about that when I purchased it but it does lock when you lock the car.
