2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Interior Spied

Spy photographers from autoevolution managed to snap a shot of the prototype’s production ready interior minus the missing infotainment screen.

Sporting a new camouflage cover, the new Civic Hatchback prototype seems to have shed the aggressive body kit that was found on earlier prototypes. The dual exhaust tailpipes have been removed as has the area where they protruded from. Oddly enough, the new prototype looks like it doesn’t have an exhaust coming out of the rear.

Something else we’ve noticed is the reduced camo around the signature C-shape taillights which looks distinctly like the ones from its sedan sibling if the black tape beside it is any indication. Both taillights may be connected by a spoiler or maybe a light bar similar to the Civic Coupe’s. Additional thin red slats can be found under the taillights. They could possibly be just reflectors or rear fog lamps.

One more item to point out are the rear door windows. They’re not curved anymore compared to the 8th gen civic hatchback and the tip that’s is covered may or may not be glass. For all we know, that’s a large piece of door trim.

As for the front, nothing seems to have been changed since the last time we spotted the prototype, just has less camouflage this time around.

They managed to take a shot of the hatchback prototype’s interior and it’s just as expected, almost identical to the other 10th gen civic models except for the missing head unit. We can expect to see it launch sometime in the first quarter of next year.

Thank you for posting this, as I am waiting for the Hatch myself. My initial reaction is disappointment. I was and still am hoping that the hatch is sporty in the R version. Currently sitting on the fence over what Honda delivers and the VW GTI.
Firm believer that Honda makes more reliable vehicles than VW. Always been a fan of "Hot Hatches".

Hers's to hoping that when all the duct tape comes of the hatch it is all that it can be, and maybe a little more..

I see the key in the ignition above. Must mean it is a lower trim level they are tooling around in.

Well, here's the concept model. The general shape is the same and maybe they covered up the slanted corner of the rear window with camouflage.Judging by the location and length of those reflectors, maybe they kept the large rear vents too.

As always they keep production model and test mules close to the concept. That's one thing I like about Honda/Acura, but at the same time it's a downside since they never set themselves up for some crazy forward thinking type of features. Meanwhile you have other brands that introduce concepts that really raise the bar.

No point in introducing concepts that "raise the bar" if they end up disappointing fans upon production... Subaru comes to mind... the awesome looking Impreza concept and more recently the Legacy and Forester concepts that upon production ended up ditching 60% of the concepts style and flare for watered down style options and lack luster design. And really, their concepts weren't even that crazy, they could've easily been 85% production ready.

I'm happy honda keeps their concepts close to production look, alot less room for epic letdown when the cars hit dealers. haha.

On that note, we already know what the production hatch is going to look like, nobody seems to remember we have seen the images from the patent applications, which showed the loss of the showing exhaust, but keeping the large fake front and rear "vents", minus the crazy yellow/green fog light rings.

@Becky , that's what the Si hatchback is for

I highly doubt the hatch will be delayed until next year. It may come as a 2017 model but I'm hoping to see it on the lots later this year.

Pretty sure honda has already stated it'd be out second half of 2016 as a 2017 model, most likely close to when the other 2017 models hit lots, which should be sometime between August-November.

At the rate info is trickling out, we may not see Si models until early 2017, similar to when they released the coupe this year.
