Production Spec 2017 Civic Hatchback Revealed In Patent Images

Images of the production spec 10th gen Civic Hatchback has recently emerged. We’ve already seen the concept model at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month and now images of the road-going civic hatchback has surfaced online before its debut.

A few details may have been dulled down but it still has the basic lines of the concept model. That pronounced rear windshield is still there with a larger wiper and both the front and rear bumpers have the same big air vents. The side panels have the same sheet metal peaks and troughs that leads your eyes towards the back where the C-shaped lights are located.

What’s missing are the large wheels, side skirts, front and rear aprons and there’s no indication of where the exhaust will be located or what type of exhaust we could be getting in the leaked images so we may not see the center mounted mufflers on the production model. Maybe the base model will have a hidden tailpipe instead.

The new Civic Hatchback will be sporting a 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine and they will be built at the Honda Europe factory in Swindon.

Have to wait and see. Not a fan of the tail lights and integrated spoiler. Just seems to heavy for the vehicle.

The back looks like the integrated spoiler that Crosstour had

If the rear looks like the concept model at Geneva, the spoiler doesn't look that big and I kinda like the taillights too. They're different but still new and interesting.

In black it will look good to me since black will help the spoiler to blend in with the rest of the body, all for a cleaner look which is what i'm almost always after.

Looks are much less important to me than fuel economy, fun-to-drive factor, utility (cargo capacity and able to handle Chicago winters), features & ergonomics (good stereo, user friendly controls, refined interstate cruising), and reliability. I'm willing to pay more for higher quality, and it has to have a manual transmission.

Manual transmission is pretty much a promise from honda at this point across the civic lineup.

As for features, ergonomics, etc you mentioned, sit in a sedan and you'll have the idea since all 3 will share the same interior layouts and materials. Only difference will be rear visibility out the back window.

5 Civics in 10 years. I might be an addict.

saw the hatch in profile on 10thcivicforum
not really a fan of it. Really curious how it will look in reality
also a shame that the tailpipes are gone.
If you really want to make a more sportier looking car: tailpipes are a nobrainer
look at the mazda 3 f.e.

think they just didn't put the tailpipes in the patent images and we'll probably see the tailpipes in the center like the concept model. Makes more sense for Honda to leave it as is so they have to change less.
