Exclamation Venting to atmosphere (issue)

Recently installed the Torque Solutions Blow off valve sound plate.

Drove fine for a while, did a few hard pulls, and (if i had to guess) 4,500-5,000 RPMs in 4th gear and the car went into limp mode. This is probably 10-15 minutes after install.

Pulled over, restarted the car, ran fine after that. Did a few hard pulls after that and it seemed to run fine. Did a diagnostics scan and it seems like the car cleared the error out by itself because it wasn't showing up.

I do understand the risks of running rich. Just wanted an explanation or some sort. Was the car just not used to the different are:fuel ratio? Was it not used to the difference in pressure gain/loss? Should I be worried/remove it?

Also, I understand the blow off valve is meant for the blow off noise. Is it supposed to make your spool louder? It's a little 1.5 liter turbo engine and the turbo spools super loud now. (I like it, just seeing if other people got the same results or again, should i be worried).

The answer in short is you can't VTA on these cars. It has no purpose and throws off AFR's and fuel trims has the car is not compensating for the lost air. My professional opinion is to just remove it.

If you want to do more research on here or the net you can, but I will confirm what Vincent stated above is accurate.

Alright, I'll take it out soon. Thanks for the input! I guess I had my fun with the "Pshhh" sound but tbh it's not worth all the hype. 2 days and I got my "wanna be Subaru" out of my system

I installed a Turbo XS blow off valve on my 2018 Civic hatch and had no issues as of yet. I do have a Hondata tune, test pipe, down pipe, and Injen short ram intake. Runs and sounds great! CVT trans.
