Honda has made a large move to bolster the competitiveness of their Canadian manufacturing facilities all the while insulating them from exchange rate fluctuations.

$857 million in investments were announced just last week.

But thats not the significant bit, Alliston will be the lead production facility for the 10th generation Honda Civic. Lead facility means it will pioneer practices for manufacturing 10th generation Civics that will be used by other Honda facilities worldwide. In case you were wondering this is the first time Honda has allowed this to happen outside of Japan. A BIG deal for Canada...

That is great news for Canada. There are some people working for Honda that will be getting some exciting opportunities in Canada because of this. Do you think that having the Civic produced domestically will mean that the price might be slightly less in Canada than it would be otherwise?

Provide some please.

Because I can list a few more botched Mexican escapades. Lincolns launch of the MKZ was botched because they had to put a stop shipment on all cars because they weren't meeting quality metrics.

BRP has a new plastics and manufacturing facility in Mexico for their cheap little Spark PWC, they've been cracking hulls and handle bars.

And ask VW about thier QC nightmares in Mexico since EVER.

But you're right Correlation vs Causation.... LOL...

From Wikipedia:

To date, 42 makers have official representation in the country with nearly 400 different models, making Mexico one of the most varied and fulfilled automotive markets in the world.
Maybe there are more problems reported because there is a larger sample size. I just don't think Mexico's auto industry would be taking off if it had such a quality issue. It wouldn't make financial sense for automakers.
