It makes sense that they would use the same system as the Accord. No sense in making a whole new system for the Civic, especially since it is a cheaper model than the Accord. I'm just happy that they are going to make a hybrid model. There is a sizeable group of people who would purchase it.

I'm sure Honda will do a little of both, increase their margins and also try to offer better value than their competitors. Pricing is a science and I'm sure they have a lot of research to figure out exactly where to price it. Wouldn't the main competitor to the Civic hybrid be the Prius?
In Canada it starts from $26,305, so could we expect it to be priced around there?
The hybrid Elantra starts at $28,499. So there is some room to price low or high depending what Honda wants to do.

I am not so sure that the hybrid Civic will be as important as VTEC but I would like to be proven wrong.
