Hey guys question. Would 18x8.5 +30 with 245/40/18 tires fit my 2017 honda civic EX-L hatch without rubbing or rolling?

+30 should be ok. I was going to order some 19x9 +12 and TSW said +12 would definitely rub and need rolling. They were going to make a +32 that they said would fit but I didnt want to wait 2-3 months. Im betting +30 would fit but itd be tight.

i tested some 18x9.5 +35 rims yesterday at the tire shop and was past flush look from 1/2 inch out the fender without tires........so 1 inch rims less but higher offset should do about the same no?

not surprised that stuck out, thats like 2.5 inches wider and then moved the wheel out another 10mm. 8.5- 9 should be better.

18x8.5 Et35 will fit very close to flush with a 235/40R18 tire. On the front, OP and others can also run Et38 for a flush look.

The rear also sits very well, but it's visible that there is space for a wider wheel and tire than the above mentioned.
