Plus you also have to consider that these days manuals and automatics are nearly on par with each other when it comes to MPG numbers.

If anything, these days manuals can be more inefficient due to how someone transitions from one gear to the other. Plus these days a good portion of those who buy vehicles with manuals are enthusiasts and they tend to have a bit of a heavy foot ;)

That is at least the case with me, but i don't mind losing a few MPG's for the sake of having a little fun.

But that's not to say you can't do that with an automatic.

At least we know DWils will be going into the higher RPM range when he breaks in his engine :D

Got to seat those piston rings.

I just have to break in my 2012 Si first. I've had it since July 2012 and just barely crossed over 14000mi/22531km a few days ago.
not bad at all.
by now i would have easily put on double that.
seems like you don't do nearly as much commuting as the average person.

Just imagine of the Type R turns out being a hybrid ;)

I wouldn't mind that especially since hybrid powertrains have great potential for real performance, much like what they've done to supercars and hypercars.
