Brought it home yesterday. I can already tell that I'm going to be very, very happy with this car. I've been driving a 2002 Tacoma since 2004, so this is a completely new experience for me. The ride, the solid feel, the quiet... all awesome so far.

This is my firsts Honda and, at age 46, my first ever new car. I was very seriously looking at the Toyota Corolla LE Eco model, but when the dealership didn't have any on the lot I went next door to Honda. Saw the Civic, read the stats, drove one, and made my mind up on the spot. Even my wife, who had been very much against purchasing a brand new car, was convinced. We got the gap protection, the Xzilon Green, and the service/maintenance plans. The Xzilon Green and service plan are probably frivolous, but I spend a LOT of time in my car and drive a ton of miles - my Tacoma currently has 322K - so we figured over the life of the car and the amount of use we get out of it, it might be worth it in the long run.

Welcome to the forums ! Congratulations on the purchase, glad you and the wife are really pleased by it. Have you gotten a chance to compare the drive with a Corolla since or was it just out of the park, forget about it ?

that makes two previous tacoma owners to come over to the civic, this weekend!
Not entirely surprised since that's just about the lightest duty you get with a newer truck. I find that a lot of people in them don't use them for truck purpose, things you can only do with a truck. Not as easy for that to happen with someone coming from a Tundra, F-150, and the like.

Honestly, I didn't look back. The price point, options and looks all sold me. While I have no real problem with the Corolla, I just couldn't see myself opting for that just for 1 mpg more (according to the stickers).

I definitely see that. 1mpg really isn't going to be a seen difference as it's all on the driver itself. I do agree though, looks wise alone the Civic looks much better !
