So I finally got the chance and hit up the dealer to test drive the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe Touring in the White Orchid Pearl :D

One word: AMAZING!

Took it out for 3 rounds around the area and it was fastastic.

Let me tell you this, I was SOLD on it. lol

Smoothest turn, quiet ride until turbo kicked in (still a bit on a quiet end for me, but still sounded great).

Great interior design and very spacious throughout the car.

Leather trim was a bonus and seats were comfortable.

The technology in the car blew me off, especially when switching lanes and turning, the view shows up on your navigation screen. That was very neat.

Did I forget to mention about the wireless charging of your phone! CRAZYYY!

Sorry for the poor picture, as it was raining and late in the evening.

Did you get to test out the adaptive cruise control fucntion?
Dude, just wait a few months and get the 6MT coupe or 6MT hatch. It'll make it 10x more fun.

How did you like its get up and go power? As well with taking over other cars (if that's what you did)

Did you get a chance to take it out on the highway?
Hopefully it checked off most of the things you're looking for in a car.

That's what I'm waiting for...two doors and three pedals! >:)

Yes @4Tires, I got to try out the ACC function at a low speed, since I was a bit nervous about it.

It was an awesome feature, it senses the car ahead of me at the red stop and slowly did a complete stop at a safe distance. Mind you I had my foot hover out the brake pedal... JUST IN CASE lol... the LCD also showed a small icon of the car and had the word "stopped" on it. :)

When the lights turn green, I stepped on the gas a little bit and it brought me back to the speed I had previously set at 50km/h and maintained the distance really well with the car infront of me.

Very neat function that the touring had. I was impressed with it.

I think I was too amazed by how the ride was, very smooth and light on the steering wheel. Taking over other cars on the streets was a breeze, along with the left and right turns.

When I drove in the back of the dealer of the smaller street with minimal cars, that's when I tried to floor it and the turbo kicked in haha :D I think the rep wasn't pleased about that LOL

Unfortunately, he didn't allow the test drive on the highway, hence why I went around the block for like 3-4 times :D

You should go test drive it!!

I wish it had just a bit more power to it though. However, like many others that commented above, I'm going to wait for the 6MT!
The touring is sick man. Wait it out on the manual transmission bro. Imma wait for mine too. I'm getting the black touring and slapping on a nice set of rims.

Saw this post and I must say that the ACC is very precise on the highway, 'set it and forget it'. I wanted a 6MT but, I drive ~90 miles each way to work (sometimes in heavy traffic - still haven't needed to use the Brake Hold) so the automatic was a necessity for me. I am still getting used to the LKAS and other options that are on this car.... The salesman I had let me take it on the highway prior to purchasing. Go take one for a test drive and try it out...

Too bad they didn't let you on the highway but at least you got to experience what these cars are configured great for and that's the street, hence the turbo.

Do you see any need for improvement in power, something that could come from an ECU tune? Should be some threshold of power we can go up in that won't do harm but make a good difference.

Yeah I think it does lack a bit of power (minus the turbo kick in). Perhaps, I'll check in another dealer and ask to take it out on the highway LOL :) But overall, I really enjoyed the drive. It was so smooth during turns (left and right) that I was instantly SOLD on it. The seats were comfortable enough for me and the auto camera activating upon turns was another factor that sold me too. Often, we turn and sometimes might miss that odd cyclist that pops out of nowhere or a person trying to cross last minute. So the camera shows the lane (blind spot) area, it was definitely a nice safety feature on the car. However, I would still do a shoulder check to be safe though.
It is definitely a nice ride and I really can't give an educated answer on the 'Lack of Power' question because I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 4X4 Crew Cab LT3 truck with a Duramax Diesel (AWESOME TORQUE AND HORSEPOWER) and Allison transmission. I sold my 2005 5sp manual Civic in April 2015

I agree with the shoulder turn... Not sure if it is just a GOOD HABIT or that I am not used to using it or reluctant to rely on a camera..
