2016+ Honda Civic HID Kits?

Can anyone recommend a HID Kit for the Civic?

(Context: My wife car has Xenon's. I have envy.)

Are they easy to install?

I saw this while googling and was tempted, but I know nothing about this topic: http://www.hidextra.com/h11-hid-kit-35w-55w/

for my 2013 Accord, I bought them from Zenon Supply. Knowledgeable and helpful staff-good price.
HID is thing of the past, you should look into DOT compliance LED light bulbs

I was thinking of this one: http://www.xenondepot.com/H11-LED-headlight-kit-p/h11-led-hl.htm but there were no clear directions on how to install on any car... and I wonder if the heat dissipating ribbon really works. (I've heard that LED fans fail in a tough environment like a car.)

Anyone want to give this a try first? :)

Yeah, if the mechanical connections to the LED of the heat conductor are delicate in any way, I have concerns that they may fail with heat/cold cycles, vibration etc. And a fan! Introducing moving parts where none existed previously is a red flag to me. Do the LED headlights on the Touring Civic, or for that matter the LED Low beams on the Corolla have fans?

Edit: OOps, clicked on the link. That H11 LED looks pretty robust, and NO FANS! Flexible copper mesh conductors... Love to see one of these in action!

Me too. I'm concerned that the copper mesh conductors will negatively impact something else. Also, I wasn't sure whether there was canbus or not (additional $18).

For now I'm just going to go with new halogen bulbs, and wait for other people to let me know how this works out. :)
So Team3D, have you actually done this on 2016 Civic???. If so, how was the install. I find it lame the Civic either has halogen or LED's but no HID.

I would seriously consider doing the kit from Xenon Depot if it works and install is easy.

Anyone else try this yet????

I have done this to other cars with regular HID kits but never an LED kit.

I just bought the car a few hrs ago so haven't had a chance to look inside the hood yet.
Before changing ANY bulbs on your car, you should read this article
http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/20...ersing-world-led-retrofit-bulbs/#more-1014818
thanks for teh article! I think the LED white bulbs are illegal in my city and half the year is winter so it's range will be reduced half the time to a normal bulb.
articles like that have been around since HID retro kits started coming out many years ago. I have done it many times and it works great. Granted Ive only done HID kits and not LED.

So nobody has done a retro LED kit yet?. Has anyone done a HID retro on these 2016 civics???.

Cant stand the halogen lights and not enough luminal output for me. Why bother with projector housings unless you are going to do at least HID's???
Well Im going to take the plunge...think Im doing HID kit rather than LED as luminal output is 2500 lumens with LED kit and 3200 lumens with HID kits.

I checked under the hood and there is a lot of room behind the headlight assembly area and install should be pretty easy.

Do you know that for sure?

As far as I know in most places it isn't an issue. Most lighting issues come down to using specific colors that are only allowed for emergency vehicles, snow plows, etc.
I have 4500K (White/Super White) Morimoto Elite 50w HIDs. I believe it is all preference but I like my setup right now.

can you post up some pics?...I decided on 6000K HID and output should be 2800 lumens which is a nice compromise between color and output...most HID kits are 35W, haven't seen many at 50W before.

That is indeed a good setup, perfect upgrade from halogens. Had 6000k's before and they just had too much of a blue hue going on, more than I wanted. Plus cops around here both you if they see the slightest of blue from your lights.

OK, 6000K HID installed...super easy...15 min job...color looks great and out put much better than halogens.

After driving around abit tonight, I agree with you, my 6000K's are abit too blue...they are still a lot brighter than halogen, but on the road, it is white/blue...would prefer the pure white of 5000K if I had to do it all over again.

Here is my setup. Let me know if you all can see the attachments.

I see them. Looks a bit yellow in the second picture but that's probably from the dirty asphalt.
