Hi everyone.
I'm considering getting a 2021 Civic LX hatchback to replace my 2019 Sport hatchback, which was totaled recently.
My main concern about the LX is not having paddle shifters for downshifting when descending steep, windy mountain roads.
I see that the LX CVT has a "Low" mode, but the owner's manual is really vague about what it does. Maybe someone here has experience with it?
I'm wondering...
How slow do you need to be going to shift into Low without damaging the car?
Does Low result in a useful amount of engine braking at very low speeds, like 15mph?
Maybe S mode is better for engine braking?
Thanks in advance for any info on this.
