5 Civic Sedan Alternatives for the Contrarians Among Us

AutoGuide has listed 5 alternatives to the Honda Civic sedan (the car that was awarded AutoGuide's 2016 Car of the Year.)

If you are curious about what else is out there, here are some vehicles to consider.

1. Mazda3 4-Door

Slightly cheaper, comparable performance and better fuel economy.

2. Nissan Sentra

Cheaper by more than $2,000 but offers less performance, comparable fuel economy and lots of features.

3. Volkswagen Jetta

Less horsepower but plenty more torque thanks to a turbocharged engine. Fuel economy is comparable.

4. Ford Focus Sedan

A smidge more performance at the sacrifice of fuel economy.

5. Hyundai Elantra Sedan

Less power but better fuel economy in the city and comparable features.

Mazda3 is going to appeal to us most due to cost, the fact it's another Japanese car (and we all know how hard it is to seriously consider the Germans and Americans), it's sporty looking and driving, and overall, it's what we're looking for.

@OP, you should get a poll up on this thread, i'm sure M3 will take the lead.
