About to pull pin on a LX manual

Hello from Ottawa Canada

I'm about to pull the pin on a Lx Man. Wife and I have been torn on which model to get. We love driving a stick and we also want leather so we also like the touring. The wife don't like all the teck stuff on the touring and to be honest it's too much for me as well. The Lx is amazingly equipped for the price and the only thing we really want that it doesn't have is leather. This is not a deal breaker cause I had aftermarket leather installed in my 2015 ram (katskins) and it's nicer then oem so we can have the civic done for about a grand. So spending a extra 8G just for leather would be silly. Also plan to get nice alloy rims in the spring.

Have to say that the manual in this car is awesome. Lots of power with the 2.0L and compared to our last standard, 06 jetta TDI, it has such a easy clutch.

The only thing that I'm not used to is this.....the dealer we have been dealing with is not willing to move on price at all. I'm not used to this. My last purchase was my 2015 ram which I got about 15 grand off lol.....I know there is not as much wiggle room on these cars as there is on a dodge. The sales guy even showed me the invoice price which seems to indicate there's only about 1200$ mark up on a Lx.... A bit hard to believe? How much typically has everyone been able to neg off the msrp or over invoice? Also I'm planning on getting extended warranty and rust proof, mats and mud flaps......they don't want to move on any of that either?.... Like throw me a bone here lol......

Thoughts anyone?

You should at least get $700 or $800 OFF MSRP, if no, just leave. Kanata Honda (Ontario) discounted $1500.00 OFF MSRP for the Touring model, so you should be able to get $700 or $800 off easily for LX model.

One thing about seat cover/leather replacement, make sure the installer knows what he is doing and don't mess up the built in seat airbags.

Yes, the Canadian LX is very well equipped, because Honda Canada is counting on this model to be the top volume leader.

Wow thanks for the info I really appreciate that. Looks like you done good:)
Also keep in mind that LX 6 speed models make a minuscule amount of the initial build. Nothing wrong with shopping around, but you might not find many stores that actually have an LX manual available. And if there is not a lot of availability, it may be harder to get a discount.

That being said, yes, that is how small the mark up is on these cars. On a Honda Fit its about $400. I have a hard time telling a customer, who is coming off anything American, that a Fit pretty much sells for MSRP because of this.
I'm sure this will be a car you'll enjoy. There has to be some sort of wiggle room, whether it be small or large.

Try a different dealership I got over 2 thousand off my new Touring. >:)
Well not going to be a civic owner after all. I really wanted one but at the end of the day it's the wife's car and she wanted a Jetta. We used to have one years ago and she drove a new one and loved it. Hope you all enjoy your civics. I still think it's a great car. Good luck to all......
