I was sitting in my car and noticed this cover wedged between my brake and gas pedals. It was connected to the brake line ( see hole in cover). I tried to push it back up but couldn't get it to connect. I went to dealer and they couldn't get it to reconnect. They ordered a new part bit were unsure of the exact location rear of steering column.

Part Information: 53320-TBA A0
Cover, STRG JOINT (LH) CAV 1

I will update this post once the part comes in and post the parts diagram of where it belongs.

Wow, too bad something as simple as that is faulty. Not sure where the OBD reader is but if the PDI guy had to take some readings it possible he removed the cover and broke a clip or something. Did you see anything broken on the mounting side?

Smith,
My car has not had any type of service since purchase with the exception of front driver side tire had a nail in it.

The car was shipped directly from the factory, I did not buy off the lot.

Only thing I can think of is it was broken from the factory. According to the Service Manager the two plastic screws appeared broken---but I have not found any random debris in the car.

Today, the replacement cover came in and I will take photos of it and upload a copy of the schematics that show the exact placement in the car.

Good thing they were quick to order you a new part, seems like something the factory should have paid very close attention to if it was touching the brake line... Probably not a widespread problem since it's down to negligence. Keep us posted!
