Who's making these air bags? Autoliv usa?(many or most are) Having worked with Autoliv usa 2+yrs I'd highly recommend asking for your air bags to come from a different manufacture. In fact my friends, family & those I talk with sadly I tell them all to avoid any AL air bags(I would NEVER have them in my car)(I have seen and heard far too much to trust their safety and lives with AL airbags) Don't trust me? Fine I understand. I would highly challenge anyone who cares about their loved ones to go work on the production floor at AL Ogden,UT for 6mo-1yr.(Ask questions, be antithetical, have a semi investigative journalist mentality, look at the quality going out, look at the moral of the people, work in diferent areas(Icab,SAb,Driver, Passenger, ect) see what were're told to tell and not tell Honda, Toyota, ect when they tour our production floor) This company will fall some day as we are seeing takata airbags falling currently, Guess who's getting most of the business Takata is loosing? You got it Autoliv.

Bizarre entry - it's not like we get to option the brand of internal components in anything.
If you have a true concern contact the NHTSA or FBI immediately.

Wow... I'm afraid of airbags now and they're supposed to keep me safe. Just read that Toyota is recalling more than a million Prius, Prius Plug-In and Lexus CT200h vehicles for side airbag problems, airbags that were made by Autoliv.

Found the bit from autoweek.

Crazy thing about the Takata airbag recall is this: Volkswagen, Toyota and one other manufacturer are STILL selling new vehicles with the recalled airbags in them. Worst part...It is legal. Because a recall has been issued, it is legal to sell them.

His only post on the forum is about airbags from the place where he works? Hmmmm. Could this be a legit problem or the comments a disgruntled employee (or someone who may now be a former employee)? You be the judge.

The Civic X received a five star safety rating from IIHS and NHTSA, in part because of the comprehensive airbag design. That was a major factor on why I decided to buy the car.

Thanks for the warning, but until NHTSA tells me the airbags aren't safe, I'll spend my time worrying about more productive things.

Time to get back to restocking my survival kit and sharpening my machete....

I guess if the civic airbags really needs to be recalled then Honda will do so. Admittedly, I'm not sure which exact company makes the Civic airbags.

Don't have a machete but I do have a banjo in case of a zombie invasion.
