Annoying XM radio reminder!

I have 1 month left on my XM free trial, and on the nose of 1 month left the stupid thing makes a loud ring tone type noise and the display says to call XM and renew. Every single time I start the car it scares the crap out of me like that, and every single time I change the channel it does it.
I called Honda, they don't know anything about it, they said it must be XM doing it. I call XM they say there is no way to turn off the reminder other than subscribe to a plan and all they can offer me is 20 bucks a month. Heck NO. I haven't paid that much for XM in all the years I've had it.
So anyway, does anyone know if there is a setting in the radio somewhere to make this reminder crap stop???

I assume once the subscription ends so will the reminder. If it still happens after the subscription expires then you have a very good reason to complain to either Honda or XM Radio. Could not find anything mentioning this in the Owner's manual.

XM told me if I purchased a package to start when the trial ends, the reminder will stop. Obviously it would stop after the trial ends, because the XM won't work anymore.
I told them if this starts up again 1 month before my package ends, I will cancel the subscription and possibly contact a lawyer.
1. its my car I have the right to say what happens and does not happen with my radio
2. this reminder is loud, scared the crap out of me, required me to take my eyes off the road to see what the heck was going on, if someone were to crash as a result of this I'd think XM would be liable
I just called Honda corporate, they said this is a feature that XM had built into the car and there is no way to disable it.
I told the guy I'm telling you right now this is a serious liability issue for Honda and there needs to be a way to shut this off.
The noise is loud scares the crap out of the driver, not to mention its annoying to have to keep listening to that beeping every time you start the car and change the station.
Honda is going to look into it and see if there is a way to disable it and call me back.

It's their service, they have a right to say what happens with it. Exercise your right with the radio. Listen to something else.

LOL. There's a complaint registered with NHTSA about the 2016 Odyssey not having a big enough low fuel light and also not having an audible warning to make you look at it and how this is all a safety issue. (Never mind that you can always look at the gauge like we used to. This stuff is all there with the expectation that the driver will occasionally look at it.) If it made a noise, then people would complain about the noise scaring them and causing them to crash. Of course, there's a complaint about how the '16 Civic's lack of a glove box lock is a safety issue. Go figure.

Its my car, its my radio, they don't own it I do, they have no right to force me to listen to daily beeping noises. Honda agreed, they said the engineers will find a way to disable this and get back to me. This is annoying as crap to have this go off numerous times in my 75 mile commute. I bought the car with the XM radio because I want to use it, the way I want to use it period.
they have no right
LOL. They could stop offering the service tomorrow. They could discontinue the channels you listen to tomorrow. They could change the content of them to stuff you don't like. It's their service. That's like saying the Globe has no right to print articles you don't like or run ads you don't like. Or that SXM has no right to send you bills since it's your mailbox.

I'll take that bet.

What bet
That Honda will come back to you with a way to suppress behavior designed into SXMs silicon and data stream.
I pay the $20 per month to be able to listen to Howard Stern, and it is totally worth it.

Baba Booey!
