Normally I am not one to recommend HID kits. However as we have projectors anyway I figured they might look and preform decent. Anyone try one yet? If so any pics or review?

(No - I am not going to try / don't care about LED bulbs. Or a retrofit at the moment)

I agree with the whole LED thing. I haven't had one set that lasted me a full year, and I've tried maybe 5 different brands and styles. I'm currently running a pair in my highbeams as 3000k foglights trying to copy the JDM Integra, but I doubt they'll last the full year. I currently have a pair of 6000k 55watt HIDs in my projectors, and they seem to work okay. I think OEM already has a slight blue tint/hue built in, so I feel like I'm diminishing some output, but they match the LED DRLs pretty well. Overall, the reflectors with LED bulbs is overpowering it. I'm also running 3000k HIDs in the fogs, but can't remember what wattage. They're much brighter than the stock halogens, but they don't match the filters on my highbeams.

There's a few threads on here with people making changes but I think majority of them have gone the LED route. Why are you so opposed to the LED bulbs?
First off , anything will be better than the low beam OEM projectors, the high beams are fine. The issue with aftermarket right now is there is no LED bulb design that will get you further down the road than the OEM, they will light up more than the OEM in that short distance though. HID has the same negatives its always had, cost and longevity. I was even going to go with a whiter halogen and try aiming the beams slightly higher but then I found out that most aftermarket halogens are only rated to last for about a year. So I'm going to wait and see if a projector specific LED gets designed and give that a try.

Smart to stay away from LED's in your Honda projector. Beam pattern is almost impossible to get right with the LEDs while the HID give you an almost perfect beam pattern. LEDs also do not give you color temperature choices. HID' are easy to install. Use car wiring for power, but stay with the 35 watt only and best to use the AC (not DC) ballasts. Locating hardware is not difficult. Put ballasts where you do not get too much hear from the engine compartment.
Also suggest staying with 5000K bulbs for best visibility results. Can go to 6000K and still be good, but 5000K better for what your eyes need (even if no so cool).
You will like the results.

LEDs might work but I am not putting any time into finding out with ones are BS and which are not.

HID is a proven, reliable technology. It is just the beam pattern and if it will look right or not in our lights.

Hey HotDog, why not DC ballasts?

Why do you say stay with 35W? I love how much brighter 55W bulbs and ballasts are.
