April arrival for hatchbacks....local Honda claims.

My guy at the Honda dealer said that they are expecting hatchbacks by April. Now,.......maybe he was misunderstanding,...but it seems odd that they would "show up in April" when they haven't even been on the "Future Models and Concepts" page. Do you think he may be thinking of the Coupe coming in April?

Yea, I don't think hatches are coming out in April. I wouldn't expect them until next year.
April 2017 maybe.
Unfortunately the hatchbacks will not be available until later. April would be convenient for a purchase.
Newbe to the forum! (lurker for a long while and waiting patiently for the hatch) I currently drive a 2006 Subi Impreza outback sport wagon (original and happy owner). Wife and I went test driving this weekend EX-t and 2016 Impreza. When I brought up with the Honda sales person that i am really interested in the hatch (whenever it arrives...) he disappeared for a few seconds.

When he returned he said current date was now August...I verified with him and sales mgr that they were referring to hatch and not coupe. Both said hatchback.

That date is earlier than i have been hearing/reading about (spring 2017) and was the 1st time a dealer/Honda person had said anything definitive about the hatch.

Now it is waiting game for me!

BTW wife liked the Civic better. I knew she would, she really just wanted to get a 2016 Impreza hatch (honestly she doesn't care that much anyway), but after driving 2016 civic she now understands why i think it a better car in 2016.

August 2016 is very plausible. I've read it will be in showrooms later this year. The spring 2017 date is when the UK gets it. NA is supposed to get it before them.
Anyone know how long it take for the LX manual to be built, and delivered to a dealer?
I got the vin number in mid March and still don't have the car...

Agreed. August sounds believable. We haven't even seen the production hatchback yet so it is simply impossible that it would come out in April.

Since manuals have a dying interest and would take more time, i bet it could be another couple weeks or more compared to the typical high volume models.

That would be a real kick in the ass to UK buyers! Since they will be built in UK!

I hear you! If they really will be out in August, I may have to wait some more.
Can't wait for August to come so I can try out all 3 civic models at the same time.

As for the UK, they can wait. They've been getting more hatchbacks than NA, maybe time for them to take a backseat for once and wait.
YUP, USA is getting them first, kinda like building the European type R in OHIO(or at least the engine is) and we can't have it........and thats the one everyone wants.........

If you haven't driven a 9th Generation, you should, since it will help to see where Honda has come from, in the end possibly giving you a greater sense of appreciation with the changes made with this generation.
Got the car last night. Took about a month since I placed order at dealer until I got to drive her home.
