Audio unit died this morning. Car is less than 2 months old.

2016 Honda Civic EX-L + Sensing
It wouldn't turn on. Black screen.
It finally decided to come back up on it's own. Showed error message "Anti Theft power was disabled..." Asked me to hold the power button down for more than 2 seconds.
After that it started working but the steering wheel audio controls would not show up on the Instrument Panel. Then after a few minutes of driving it started showing up and it played back all my audio control button presses.
Just totally weird.

Your car thought you were stealing it? That's odd. If it happens again, best to bring it into your dealership. Maybe a sensor is not functioning properly.
