Auto defrost issue, when using remote start.

Does anyone know how to activate the automatic defrost function on a 2016 Honda Civic EX, according to the downloaded factory manual it is supposed to be factory set to turn on the windshield and rear defrosters automatically when remotely started, if the ambient temp is below 45 deg.F and the car equipped with climate control.

My car (Touring) definitely activates the defrosters when remote started. If yours does not, something may be defective and you should take it to the dealer.
I'm wondering about the 45F figure. I don't find that number in the OM. (I even searched with Reader.) What I find just says "when it is cold outside". 45F seems warm to waste energy running defrosters since there won't be much frost at that temperature. Maybe check it again when it gets closer to freezing?
That seems a lot closer to a temperature where frost may start forming.

Definitely ask the dealership, mine works when I remote start it (I have a Touring)
