Can anyone tell me if the attached battery charger circuit can be expected
to perform the function. It is not suppose to begin charging unless there is
a minimum voltage supplied by the battery to be charged. Do not know
what the minimum voltage is. The green led is expected to come on when
charging is complete. At present it is not working. The parts are as follow:
N1 is 2N5551, N2 is 2N5551, N3 is 2N5551, P1 is 2N5401, P2 is 2N4403,
P3 is 2N4403, P4 is 2N5401, R is 431, SCR is S6055K,

In the diagram is component "R" which I believe is similar to a TL431. Am I
correct that the component will act as a zener diode as soon as the
reference voltage reaches 2.5 volts regardless of the cathode to anode
voltage? –

Can't seem to click into the picture mate. Would be a lot more helpful if we could see a little bit more about how it's supposed to look like and hook up. Is this something already constructed or something you're trying to fix up? Alternatively, you could try getting a ready-made charger off the internet?
