Next week will be a hectic week of new model releases/debuts because of the Frankfurt Auto Show and the online debut of the 2016 Honda Civic sedan. Can't wait for it!
I noticed that too. I don't know if that's just the width difference between the ILX and the new civic in general or if the Type R specifically is that much wider/has a staggered stance (isn't that usually done on the back, not the front?)look how much wider the front track is...
It is. And this is a hatchback. That back end is identical (other than the tail light bar) to the current gen euro hatch. It's a split rear window design like the CRZ has. It just looks a bit lower because it's on an ILX body which slopes more in the back.Looks like it is a sedan as opposed to a hatchback. I thought the Type R is usually a hatchback.
To me it looks like a 2012 Euro hatch... In fact, I think the rear is a 2012 euro hatch...It is. And this is a hatchback. Agreed, the unit on the proto is not proddy spec. But I do believe all three will feature the light bar... just a feeling, I don't know...Yep. which makes me doubt the sources saying that the taillight bar is production spec. I doubt honda would recycle the tails from a 2012 car on the 2016 civic. Granted it might be a similar setup, but it won't be exactly the same.
Maybe... but we know the coupe will have the bar across the back... I can definitely see all three carrying that as a common link... but then again, It could also be similar to the 4th gen Accord coupe which aped the original NSX... so maybe something similar...They may not be keeping the light bar that goes across the length of the back. The 2015 Civic Hatchback rear has the light bar separated into 3 parts. Maybe the newer models will follow this trend.
Well the sedan doesn't have the light bar. It's taillights flow up onto the trunk and then stop without touching eachother, so currently the coupe is the only one with the light bar. BUT. Quite a few of the euro hatches have had light bars or at least a reflector connecting them. So i could see them doing a light bar for the hatch.Maybe... but we know the coupe will have the bar across the back...
