Hmmm, gotta say I would have been fine with them all have the mechanical tach, looks really good.
I like both alot. I wouldn't have been upset if they'd done the base trim setup across the board. I really just wanted them to keep the digital speedo in some form or another. But i'm definitely not gonna complain about having a fully digital and customizable display in my future EXT either. lol
Speedo font for the setup below looks better than the one above, they should move the front from below to above. i'd prefer that.
Both are nice but I think I'd rather the second one. Not everything has to be on a screen.
Just looks odd to me to have the speedo jutting out.
My main thing is that we get an RPM gauge, which both offer, so it's good to see that Honda didn't cut out on that.

But with the shift going on in the industry, fully digital is the way they'll eventually go across the line.

I was gonna say this too. It's just how the industry is going. Honda was kind of the first ones in recent history to do the digital speedo (8th gen civic) and it leaked out into almost the entire lineup in some form now.

Audi is switching all it's cars to the fully digital infotainment/gauge cockpit screens and there are already other automakers doing the same on some luxury models etc.

The fact that the screens are customizable in terms of what information is pertinent to the driver (boost, music, car details, mileage, etc) is the high point of something like these. It allows information to be condensed without adding to the various menus on the infotainment screens most cars have now anyway.

It's all about tech and customization

I think that is the main benefit: you can change the information and layout in a digital instrument cluster. It seems like a good thing to make dependant on the trim level that you select.

It is the way that the industry is going though. That's for sure.

I like how Audi has made an instrument cluster that can display the navigation map. Better there than on the middle screen. At least give people the option.

But with a nice cluster comes a higher price tag. Maybe something similar to that will be in the coupe?

We've technically seen the coupe interior in spy shots, it's exactly the same as the sedan. Always has been. Only difference is there are large door handles in the coupe to help you shut the massive doors. (8th and 9th both have them as well). The only thing the coupe has ever gotten over the sedan is sport tuned suspension, thicker sway bars and larger audio system.
I really like the mechanical tach, kinds hope it's in the Si ( I know that won't be a popular opinion... Or better yet... a separate tach and speedo, for purists sake ;)
