Considering buying a 2016 Civic Ex-L

Hi everyone, I love the new civic... SO MUCH... Have been almost bought new 2016 Accord Sport for and at the last minute, I get buyers remorse and don't buy it. Because the new civic has grown on me so much.

I live in the Chicago suburbs and have negotiated. $21,500 w/ destination on an EX-L. Or $24,000 for Touring.
Still leaning towards the EX-L @ 21.5.

What are your thoughts, I don't need the car for about 30 days due to my Nissan lease ending BUT since they are clearing out these cars so cheap I want to move forward. Can you think of anything else I should ask for or do ?

The Accord sport grew on me from the outside I love the 19" wheels, I love the looks, but on the inside, it feels like an Accord from 1980s with no CarPlay. Hope to be a CIVIC owner soon..

Welcome to the forums.

I also love the Accord wheels, but they do also look really great on the Civic ;)

Have you only gone to one dealership or have you gone to multiple to get other offers/incentives ?
21,500 on a EX-L is a great price....this is a brand new one?

if you can get it for that price, you're already ahead in my book
Had a 14 Sport, took it for an oil change, loved the Red 17 Sport SE, drove it home to show the wife and she liked it. When I got back, I saw the civic EX-t and asked to drive it. took it home and The wife said if I was coming home with a new car it better be the civic. She loved the way it drove and rode and all the tech. Im fairly please with my purchase and Honda has handled the couple build issues I had with the car. Id say go for it.
I own a 16 Accord Sport and love it.But when Mrs Deathklok said I could trade her CRV in on a 16 Civic EXT I pounced and gave her my 16 Sport. The Accord is easily a more refined car but I love the sporty style of my Civic.
I want to thank you all for the replies, SO VALUABLE TO ME.
Tommmorow being Black Friday. I told the dealer I will be back to purchase BUT need to be under yes brand new Black/Black NO options @ 21,500 they basically said we will see if they will go any lower.

Every dollar counts for me and I am going to tell them I need 21,250.

I really like the touring and wanted it but after a test drive I was puzzled I then drove the EX-L and liked the seats better on the EX-L. For some reason it contured my legs better and/or felt more sporty to me. Not sure I have a small build and just felt more comfortable in the EX-L.
I am also one of few who may like the EX-L rims over the Touring.

The advantages of the touring should out weight those items especially with those lights and subwoofer but I can do those lights myself and to be honest the price tag of 21,500 will keep me smiling for years. I am absolutely SHOCKED at all the value you get these new Civics. Never had a Honda yet, been 10 year Nissan loyal now also Very thankful I skipped the Accord sport and went this route. I will let you know the final price tommorrow we agree on. Also I think I will keep the car 2.5-3yrs and average 15k-17k miles a year.

I am ok with the money but don't want to spend if I don't need it, should I buy extended Honda Warranty ? did you ?

My take on extended warranty on this years Civic is to not get it. First year vehicles always have problems and I wouldn't want to own it longer than the original warranty. Instead I rather get rid of it 3-4 years down the road and then decide what i want to do from that point on.
If you only want to keep the civic for 3 years, then the standard warranty may be enough to cover you. You can take a look at the limited warranty and see if your average car use falls into the range they cover: http://automobiles.honda.com/information/owner-resources.aspx
If you plan on keeping the car for 2.5-3 years whilst averaging 15-17k miles a year, I wouldn't go for the extended warranty. Just my .02 though
Thank you all for your help!!! I bought today.. Creating new thread..... Now...
