CVT Whine

So real quick, is it normal for the cvt to whine rather loud? if i have the music off the cvt whines pretty loud.. ive owned a cvt before my civic touring coupe, it was a 04 nissan murano, but the whine wasnt nearly as loud? should i be concerned?

I would have it looked at. My 2014 civic CVT doesn't drone/whine noticeably at all. And never noticed a pronounced whine in the 2016s i've test driven before.

I would definitely check with the dealership to be on the safe side.
