Hi! Just joined 6/24/2018 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring
I have previously viewed that the electronic tone generator module is located underneath the center rear bumper area, thanks to a member showing his video, that verifies that the doors are locked. I am 73, and the chirp?/tone is very difficult for my old (73) ears to hear, unless I am standing within about 5 feet of the bumper. My last vehicle, I could hear the horn from a huge distance away, as it was a very loud horn. Is it possible, or has anyone tried, to unplug the small module, & replace it with a horn, even like the slightly louder (Roadrunner?) Meep, Meep, standard front horn? I am thinking about replacing the front horn with the College Hills louder replacement, if I get brave enough to take off the front bumper as is required to do so. I could then use that horn, that already has a connector, if it would plug into where I would be removing the tone module. Any thoughts on this?
