I have one on mine but I don't use it for towing; it's the mounting point for my bike rack. I can't imagine that these cars do well with any tongue weight. . . Bikes and rack weigh less than 100lbs and it's enough to make the rear suspension settle quite a bit.

@rachaelmarks - I have a 2017 Civic EX Hatch. I have the hitch for use only as a mount for my bike rack. It's the Curt Mfg. #11445, and I bought mine on eBay for about $175. No cutting of the bumper cover is required, but you have to drop the rear mufflers down for mounting access during installation. It was necessary to drill (2) additional holes for mounting, and it was necessary to trim the heat shields over the mufflers for fitment; complete instructions were included for both the installation and the trimming of the heat shields.

I installed this myself and the total time was about one hour. Overall it was pretty simple and I'm extremely happy with the result. I'm attaching photos of it as it looks on the back of the car; please forgive all the salt. . . We got another 2" of snow yesterday/last night here in suburban Minneapolis and they literally spray the roads with brine to keep the ice at bay.

Please take note: if you have the Sport or Sport Touring model there is not a hitch option currently available to fit around the center exit exhaust. I have no idea if anyone is even working on a solution for this type or not. Also, there are other brands out there besides Curt and I'd consider them of approximately equal quality, but I've installed the Curt brand on a number of cars over the years and I've always been pleased with both the quality of the unit and the excellent fitment.

Mike
