Front fender marker lights

I love almost everything about the new body looks. Except those stupid bright yellow marker possibly turn signal lights (haven't turned the flashers on and looked) on the front fender. Especially on my Aegaen blue. It just looks awful and out of place in my opinion. Has anyone seen any clever deletes or mods for those lights? I'm just trying to think of something better for that to make it look right.

The VWPassat I had had yellow lights similar idea , stood out. I tinted them with a spray called Night Shades and took the edge off. I have a black one coming, will do it to them if easily removeable.
The civic in Korea that debuted recently uses silver side markers (with amber bulbs) and it's a much cleaner look. I figure it shouldn't be too hard to find similar online if not the actual honda parts used. Would be a direct swap of the pieces. Kind of planning that in the back of my mind at some point after i get my coupe.
That's one thing I never understood about some car makers, amber colored lenses as part of the side marker assembly is way to old school looking, just as much as tail lights with an amber colored portion of the tail light where the turn signal is... we don't see that these days, rarely if at all. Clear is the way to go.

Could you post a picture for us, especially of the Passat where you changed the color? Would help us all to visualize what we are talking about.

That's what I'm finding with most parts i have looked for. Everything is still so fresh I can't find much yet heck even something as simple as a cold air intake. It seems like the 1.5T is the only ones I see so far in searching that I like. Nothing for the 2.0 yet. I wish I could just delete the lights easier. But I'll see what come down the pipeline
How hard is it to pop out the amber markers and replace them with another set?

I'd like to know too, plan on pulling them to tint them.

I have not tried because I haven't found replacement lenses yet. When I do I can answer this

While you may not like them, they are a safety feature, designed for YOUR safety, so people see without doubt you are turning. Deleting safety features from a car is not a good idea IMO

That is a fair opinion. If there is a good way to not make them look awful. They will stay. A delete on something like that is always a last resort.
Is if it's an OEM part, even if it's just in Korea, could your local dealership find out the part number and order it for you?

I'm actually replacing mine in part because of safety, and secondly for looks.
...the stock ones do NOTHING for safety, as you mention. But that's what I want to add.

My old car had lights in the side mirrors, so cars next to me could see my turn signal. The fender lights on the Civic only come on with the headlights, and I totally agree that the big orange light isn't pretty.

So I found an LED set on Ebay that were $30 for the pair, plug in, and then have an extra wire that you run to your turn signals.
That means they glow white with your headlights (which was when the OEMs glowed orange), and then they have amber LEDs that flash when your turn signals are on.
And they are smoke tinted, so they match the blacked-out aesthetics of my Civic Sport hatch.
And there were like 30 sellers on Ebay with something similar.

No reason you can't have better looks AND more safety!

Looks like they have them in clear versions, too - this is a good picture to show what they do:

you may have to add a resistor to keep hyper-flashing from occurring. just a heads up.

That's true, had to do that for my motorcycle. Actually was included, but a separate part.

...actually, since I'm not replacing the OEM turn signal (in the headlights) but simply tapping into it to add this LED to also flash, that shouldn't change the resistance that the... You know, I don't even think they use relays in cars these days.
We'll see. Fingers crossed.

They have just showed up (from China, of course) this past weekend, so sometime in the next week or so I'll hopefully have time to do it. I have a few competing projects vying for my time however... So far they look pretty cool in their box though.
I was looking into doing my side markers also since i to have Aegaen blue, I know Depo makes a smoked style you can get on Ebay / Amazon. I watch a video on replacing doesn't seem to hard.
