Future Mods?

I know it's early to ask but what mods do all of you have in mind doing once you have your brand new Civic???

Me, I don't plan on going to mod crazy like modifying the engine. I'll probably just add things for aesthetics like illuminated door sills or an LED front emblem

I'll be doing some charge pipe change up that's for sure. Wheels. Coilovers. Lip kit (non oem)
If the Honda Civic has under door lighting, I would like to install a set of these:

Not a big modder in terms of tuning for performance but personalizing a car is something I will do.

coilovers for sure, hopefully Tein comes out with something soon since i'm a big fan of their products.

wheels will follow that, concave wheels might be it... Vossen is on my list.
tune probaably... maybe coils eventually, but depends what the Si is like, might not be necessary. tints prob. maybe a red badge ;)

We see charge pipes being a pretty common mod with these cars, so this is what we like to hear.

I've been reading that some in the tuning community think that the 1.5T will not be the best platform for mods... what do you guys think?
The small 1.5 liter motor/transmission may not be able to handle lots of power but I think there is always room for a little improvement with some tuning. The charge piping will allow the air flow to be more smooth and hopefully produce little more power. I'll be part of the R&D on my own charge piping and will hopefully get some dyno tuned numbers for you guys. I can't find a dealer with the right Civic for me.

If i decide to finance to own (instead of lease) only a couple things for my future *** coupe...

1. Window tint
2. Bulbs in the low/high beams and fog lights that match the LED accents (suggestions?)
3. Wing spoiler if honda doesn't offer one as an accessory
4. Almost have always gotten a better sport air filter for my cars, reusable and breaths/protects better

Maybe you can try to get them to throw the tint in for free, most times they'll do it. We always did it if the customer was really serious, they won't want to miss out on a deal for a $500 tint job.

They have aftermarket LED kits like the HID kits but I'm not sure how the output would be behind the halogen projector (compared to the HID bulb), but I do plan to do the same.

A spoiler is needed by me as well. The rear end needs to be broken up a bit since it's so big so a bigger spoiler would be nice.

Nice. The last thing you want is anything ruining your turbine

I'm wondering if a whiter higher output halogen would be enough to make them match the LEDs... if not HID/Xenon is my next guess, but even those have different colors and hues... hoping a few people here will do this and suggest brand/output to use to make them match.

I'd love if they'd do tint for free, or the spoiler (if they offer one). I'll definitely make sure to ask when it comes time for me to get the car. They should know by now i'm serious since i've gotten like 4 cars from them already.

I'll most likely be putting a 5000k Hid Kit only mine as well as yellow foglight bulbs, or yellow overlays (depending on the exterior color)

Since you're a dealer loyal customer I'm sure you'll get some wiggle room. Play hard to sell to and when you get the numbers you like, pretend they're not, then tell them you'll sign if they throw in tint.

Going to drive it "stock" for at least a year and let the tuners figure out the platform. If KW offers a V2 or V3 kit for our cars, might pick that up. But it's going to depend on how Honda tunes the Si dampers out of the box. Historically they've been slightly underdamped for my tastes.

I've learned that any performance mods on a self-learning ECU with direct injection can be a recipe for disaster. On the Mazda, any breathing mod required a higher pressure fuel pump (HPFP) to ensure the ECU didn't lean out and cause knock/detonation.

I would strongly caution anyone not to slap on breathing mods without first understanding the mechanics of forced induction. More here:

couldn't you get the learning logic out with a re-flash or tune?
Providing you understood the ECU logic, yes. But this isn't just simply reflashing an NA ECU. Direct Injection runs upwards of 2000 PSI on fuel alone. Tweaking ANYTHING that impacts fuel delivery - including breathing mods - is a risky move. Unless you know exactly what to monitor and how.

no-I wouldn't be doing this myself NO SHOT! I mean for the tuners who do understand ECU logic...I would imagine that they have a fairly strong grasp of ECU logic if they're making it their business?

Definitely a JBL MS-8, amps and new speakers + sub. Tint. Maybe springs or coilovers once I see pics of some lowered Civics to see if they look better that way. Probably splashguards, ambient lighting kit, and the console illumination kit.
What about adding a turbo in a few years to that base manual 2.0L ? (compression 10.8:1)
