Hello folks
been a while on this forum since febuary and gotten myself the Af Dynamic intake intake (short ram version)....all i had to say for that intake was that the sound was really a good call for that one....but in honnestly.......
the poor brackets that hold the tube for the intake is real garbage...if you untied it once ...youre screwed
luckily i had an old weaponR spare brackets ...after all the filter of the intake was really poor at filtering IMO...and was loose hanging even if tightened.......it was touching the huge prestone pipe from the radiator....heat was an issue and was not even during really hot summer temperature...so i decided to go back to stock....took me 6 minutes....and all i have to say...wow i feel now the good thing about my car...(torque and faster feeling acceleretion ...even if i dont hear much more of the turbo sound....)
i was not tuned and it wasnt until next year until that....so no use to have this anymore
if i dont sell it until next year...ill probably buy a better filter and better brackets to hold the thing together....anyways
i hope i can help other people into buying cheap intakes to think about twice next time.....

ps....
the engine now runs faster and more peppy IMO.....maybe il just get a airbox filter instead after selling this.......

I have the AF Dynamic, about to get tuned. Ill let you know if it feels better once tuned. But yeah, Vit has said the stock intake is not a restriction on this platform.

I think people are going to find the same results when they start experimenting with exhaust systems, this car breaths really well, and unless you start dumping a lot more fuel into the engine, this car wont need bolt-ons. Tuning and weight reduction will be the big winners!

Power over sound is the best option in my opinion.

All good info here, can't wait for the Magnaflow system I've seen on their site, just for the looks and a bit better sound I'm sure. Coilovers next year, strut bar and Progress rear sway bar this year with Flashpro!!!!!

Update on stock set up: shifting is now a joy!!!
it feels more like butter in every gear!
pretty happy ive made that decision......
i dont miss my turbo sound either :)
So do you prefer the stock intake or the aftermarket intake?

i prefer the stock intake for the quick responsivness of the fresh air going into the airbox
but i think its pretty much the same with the intake (placebo effect maybe)
but...the turbo spool is really more enjoyable than the stock sound of the engine
cant wait to see the difference in sound with the other filter that im getting

So what I gather from all this is keep stock air box and possibly get a better drop in filter? Im waiting for K&N to come out with a drop in for it local stores dont have them yet unfortunately.
yes for performance you cant go wrong.....but dont get me wrong....the intake will give you that nice turbo sound and blowoff sound too!
ive tested both.....all i can say ....i love the turbo sound better ;)
