Been reading this and other Honda Civic tenth gen forums for a while and decided to join so I can put in my two cents. Been driving a 1998 prelude since brand new and haven't found a car good enough to replace it yet. Hoping the 10g Civic Si coupe will be the one!

Welcome to the forum! I hope that H22 has been treating you well, hear they may be a bit more problematic than other Honda engines from that era.
That's quite a long time to own a car, sounds like you are due for something new. Civic definitely should be considered. Are you looking into anything else? The Prelude I take it?
I had a manual 1983 Honda Prelude (Flip up head lights). Loved that car. Thought I had gone to heaven when I drove it around.

Wasn't the fastest but, it sure handled like a dream for the day.
I love the car but it does have a couple of issues. It does burn a lot of oil, now up to 3 liters every 700 or 800 kilometers. Mine in particular is rusting pretty badly, and especially the exhaust system - I seem to have to replace a part every few years- much more than my ex used to on her 2001 CRV.

Have you tried using thicker oil? To my knowledge that does help with an engine that burns out, you just don't burn through it as fast as what's originally recommended for it.
