Hello and greetings to all. I am happy to have found my way to a place that looks to be a wonderful resource for information on the Honda Civic. We have just purchased our 2016 EX that we are still learning about, and there seems to be a lot to learn. My wife and I haven't purchased a new car in at least 10 years so this for us, is a huge jump into the present.
We traded in our beloved Honda Prelude that we've owned for the past 10 years. It was my wifes baby and we really hated to part with it. Everything has its time though, and this car so far is helping a great deal in getting over the loss of our Prelude. :)
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to joining in the conversation and hopefully, learning a lot more about our new Civic.

She was a 97. All original, no mods ever. We owned her for 10 years with very little problems.
It had 154,000 miles on her. With that Vtec even in its old age she would do 140 MPH

That is darn impressive. Really took care of her ! I had a buddy that had a 98, ended up swapping engines a few times which is what scared me initially about them. But I'm glad to hear it was still running hard like new. That must've been really tough to give up

Nothing can ever replace a beloved Prelude. Had one myself, and still miss her.

Yeah actually that was a major issue for us. Mrs didn't want to give up her baby. She considered it the best car she ever owned. Giving her up was tough.
She was comforted somewhat to hear that some guys in the shop at the dealership were all over it. So, it looks like rather running it off to the auction, it probably went to somebody that has a real appreciation for what that car is.

That's all we can hope for when giving up our prized possessions. There's that, and hopefully one day we'll be able to see it again driving down the road somewhere in the near same condition lol

I know what you mean, had the previous gen and the gen shown in the picture posted earlier and it's just about one of my favorite Honda's to come out next to the S2000. Too bad Honda doesn't make them like that any more.

Guys loved the H22 engine so much they even swapped it into just about anything they can.
Looks great!

I can see why that was. When we first got that car, I was just amazed at how much power could be pushed out of a 4 cylinder engine. For overall quickness it was hard to beat. It ran best when you drove it like you stole it 0:)
But I did start having a hard time getting in and out of it. It's definitely a young persons ride.
Here's a shot of it's motor. For a 97 we took care of it
