Hi guys and gals.:nerd:
I'm closing on a extra(?)house this month so I will have a large down payment for early July, that's the cool part.
Going to stealership the other day I found a white si sedan.Very sweet ride(this is where the night sweats begin...:surprise:
I like it but...nowhere to stuff Ellie my boxer.:(
I know the seats lay down but I like the Hatches for room for extra things of course but no SI version(why I don't know,I guess it's the 'can't make everyone happy' thing).
I really want a R Type but the rough ride and racer attitude won't be practical for two old fogies like my wife and I.
So what would you ppls suggest?
Just get a Sport Hatch maxed with options then tune it a little (clutch, engine, etc to match the Si's power and 'hassan chop!')
...or get a Si sedan (Coupe is too small for me because I'm 6-4" been there and saw for myself...) and suffer with limited inside space ?

I guess I'm asking everyone who might own a sedan what they do about their doggies?
1.Seat covers and just let them(doggies) lay on the backseat?
2.With the seats laid down is there gonna be enough room for her or just leave the seat up?
3.Suck up the small sacrifice of not getting an Si and just run with an optioned out Hatch?

I love the look of the hatches and the room is perfect for what we do with a small car but like I say you always want to get the most fun for your money and Si's are fun, face it(like an R Types lil'bro).
I still have a month and I've looked at a thousand Civics online and it's come to these two types:
Si sedan without the room of a hatch but more fun or a hatch tuned enough to satisfy the Ayrton Senna in me?;)

Has anyone driven both for anytime to know this situation and to have a little advice?
Myself I'm leaning 60-40% towards the hatch based solely on looks, room and with HFP etc. it should keep me very happy for some time to come.
Plus the Si's like I built is five thousand more which could be used to pay for tuning, insurance, gas and spreadable cheese w/crackers (yummy, cheeeeessee...n...crackers).......:D

O.K. 1st car...the hatch

sounds as if you'd only be happy in the Type R. most are swapping the brakes to a more streetable version and the tires to more of a summer/all season variation vs. the track tires you get on the car.

you want the hatch, but the performance of the Si. once you 'build' your Si, you have stepped into the Type R world, which gives you everything you want - including the hatch for Spot.

i've been to Springfield many, many, many times. not sure where you plan on using the full potential of the Si anyways down there. unless you go south towards Arkansas. i would think the standard turbo, with a tune would be sufficient.

Now everything else has made sense up until this statement.
If you're talking of the roads being winding there are plenty of those here in Missouri.
In fact some are very twisted and hilly and etc...just the same as Arkansas.
I dont see how where I am would make any difference because I'm going out to western Colorado all the time.
So fuel mileage and comfort along with power when needed is paramount.
I see this in an Si and in a sport version of an Accord.
To me these are the two major cars I've looked at that might be along the lines of what will due me well.
I like Mazda3 and the 5 also but I've always wanted a Honda car.
I grew up on Honda dirt and street bikes so I know what I'm getting with Honda.
I've driven Toyotas big and small and Hyundai's.

But I will consider all of this in the big picture and I will keep this in mind.
Thanks guys for more valuable info as usual!Thx.

i was referencing Springfield itself. 44 & 65, campbell and battlefield don't exactly exude 'excitement'!!

i know the missouri roads well, very well. head towards Rolla & St. James, hit some of those back roads...have some fun. state route 19 is heckuva drive! try to see the views it provides as well as the hills and twisty's...

mileage between the hatch and si is insignificant, especially on the freeways.

back to your questions. since you will be going to western Colorado alot, personally, i'd go for occupant comfort. why not step up to the sport touring? i'd say it's a 95% match of what you are looking for. and for $500, you can step up the power more than the stock Si. you are giving up the manual, which on the highway, you don't really shift anyways, but you get the paddles if you must feel the need.
