Hi all

After a six-year hiatus from Honda which included a Corolla and most recently a Chevy Cruze LTZ, I'm the proud new owner of a '16 Civic EX-L. White with tan/ivory interior. My first Honda was a used '79 Civic. Had an '82 Accord, a '92 Civic and a '99 Accord V6. The Cruze was actually an excellent car but was approaching 72k miles and needed to find a new home before depreciation really accelerated.

I'll try to post pics and answer questions as best I can. Took delivery yesterday but first impressions are great. All the doodads and thingys have me a bit confounded at the moment but it's a sweet ride. I may even read the owners manual :D

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Civic EX-L! Tried to find a relevant Monty Python meme to welcome you but couldn't.

hey welcome to the boards, we have the owners manual posted here somewhere. I find the digital versions much easier to use, just CTRL-F what you need aha
Welcome to the forum!

How did you like the Cruze? I never looked into it but from the little i've seen, it seems like one of the most exciting compact sedans to come from GM.
Thanks to all for the warm welcome!

As for the Cruze...I really loved it and would have easily opted for the forthcoming redesign but no specific ETA yet. Mechanically it was virtually flawless. Compared to my new EXL, the ride was a bit more "detached", meaning it was designed with more comfort in mind but I'm not a spirited driver by any means. Road and engine noise were much quieter in the Cruze. Hard to compare the engine in the Civic to the anemic 1.4L Cruze, although it did have a small turbocharger for breakaway thrust. My model was a 2012 LTZ. Fully loaded with navigation and an upgraded sound system that I feel was far superior to the offering in my EXL.

hey man welcome. I think you've accurately described why this redesign was THOROUGHLY NEEDED!
Only thing I don't like about the 2016 Cruze design is how the rear end looks. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me but it needs to 'pop' just as much as the front (which was done amazingly well). Maybe something we'll see in a mid-cycle refresh:
