Help needed - 2016 Touring

Hi guys, I just got my 16 Civic Touring last week and I am having some trouble with some of the features. I would really appreciate any help before I head off to the dealership.

My remote starter is not working. The dealership stated that you need to press the key on the remote once and hold it once again to start the car. This does not seem like it is working.

Secondly, I have a Nexus 6 which charges when I plug in the USB, located under the main console. My gf's LG G3 does not charge via USB. Does anyone have a fix for this?

The error that comes on the screen reads " A charging error has occurred with the connected USB device"

By the way, the Civic is amazing!

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this will help, but I think you just press the remote button once, but you have to hold it for about 2 seconds. I don't know if that's what you said, it was phrased weird. As for the charging, by brother installed a CD player in his car (not a civic) and with some charging cords it would say error but with others it would charge. Even with the cords that would work, it would stop playing music (he played music through the cord, music would stop at there would be a few beeps so he would know when the cord stopped working) so he would have to unplug it and plug it back in. I don't know if this will solve your problem, just a few experiences. Oh, I started a civic via remote start and it worked fine.
Is the car locked when you're trying to use the remote start?

I had tried to start it when it was locked and when it was unlocked. Neither worked.

Thanks, I will try it out, and let you know what happens.
For the remote start I believe you have to press the lock button on your fob first and then hold the remote start button.

That did the trick.

Thanks,

I have the same problem connecting my phone to the radio. It worked for about two weeks and now it doesn't. Others phones work fine. I have tried with different cables and get the same error. My phone is a OnePlus One.
