The North American Car and Truck of the Year awards will be announced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit early next year. The Honda Civic is one of the three cars that are on the list of finalists for the NACOTY award. It is joined by the Chevrolet Malibu and the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Here is what BoldRide said about the Civic in its article:
In the Truck of the Year category, the finalists are the Honda Pilot, the Nissan Titan XD and the Volvo XC90.Our own Jeff Perez recently drove the new Civic, and simply put, the car was redemption for nearly five years of “meh.” Perez also cited “Impressive performance, beautiful design, thoughtful interior,” among the things the new Civic has going forward. After years of mediocrity, Honda is back at the top of the pack.
Automotive journalists decide on the awards in the end, and they don't mean much other than being able to boast about them in ads in the future, but it's fun to debate and discuss.
