I think the Prius will get the award. They've made the most advancements toward greater efficiency than the others on the list. The Audi is new and I don't know much about it, but it's close to $40k and it's not the every-man car the Prius is. Toyota's new Prius engine can achieve 40% efficiency which is amazing for a gasoline engine. They've also made improvements to their hybrid synergy drive transmission that will result in almost a 10% gain in gas mileage over the previous model.
