Sitting under the upcoming Type R is the next Civic Si and Honda is going to unveil it at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month.
According to Motor Authority, the auto show organizers have already confirmed around 20 debuts for the show and the new Honda Civic Si is one of them. With the show kicking off on November 16th, we won’t have to wait for much longer and hopefully Honda will release the Si’s production specs at the debut.
So far, Honda has been tight lipped about the upcoming Civic Si and all we know is that it’ll hit showroom floors in 2017. With a sedan or coupe body, the Si may get a detuned version of the Type R’s turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine, pumping out around 200-250 horsepower. Maybe Honda will tune the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine already found In the standard Civics and give it a power bump to 220 hp. As for transmission options, we’ll probably get a choice of six-speed manual gearbox and an automatic.
The show will start in 4 weeks and we may hear more from Honda before then.
