Dented and scratched panels are a common sight at the Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) and at this year’s finale at the Port of Los Angeles, Honda’s Civic Red Bull GRC car managed to side swipe its competitor whilst landing a jump.
The Red Bull GRC is a race that takes place around the world on a combination track featuring dirt and asphalt courses. Up to 10 cars can compete at the same time so you can just imagine the chaos that ensues. Red Bull GRC cars are based off of factory production models until improvements are made to the chassis, engine, and safety features. Honda created a 600-horsepower, all-wheel-drive monster this year and the Coupe based race car can hit 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds.

Joni Wiman, an eight-time Rally America champion, was behind the wheel of the GRC Civic when it side swiped another vehicle. He first tried to take the inside line next to David Higgins’ Subaru right before a 70-foot dirt jump that ends with a left hand curve. Wiman first nudged Higgins when the Subaru ran wide before the jump and as you can see, the Civic landed partially on top of the Subaru.
In the end, Joni Wiman along with teammate Sebastian Eriksson finish 6th and 7th in overall GRC standings.
