So 280PS is 276hp, and £30000GBP is about $47211USD or $53484CAD. If the pricing holds true Honda can pretty much not expect to sell too many Type Rs. For that price I can buy a 9th gen Civic Si and drop at least $10000USD into a turbo and other goodies and make way more power and still have about $15000 to gloat about over the Type R owners.

According to which currency converter? I'm using http://www.xe.com/ucc. Either way, $35000+ for a Civic is too much. I don't care if it is a Nurembergring master.

Google finance and yea 35k + is a lot...
Wait, did he say 30000 Pounds, or 30000 Euros? I thought he said (Great British) Pounds which is where I got the $47211USD from. If he said Euros then it would be $37000+USD.
Anyone who pays $47211 for a Civic is smoking on something special, even Honda if they try to price it that high. I just don't see that happening.
If it was a hand-built 500+hp Mugen race car that Soichiro Honda built himself then maybe $45000+. But only if it had navigation. Non-navi? Forget it.

like you would even have time to look at the navi screen if it is truly that quick! you'll need a navigator in the passenger seat helping you out! :D

For the (reported) outrageous pricetag Honda is putting on the Type-R it better come OEM with a co-pilot to read that navigation!
