Got a family, but also want to taxi them to the mall, soccer practice and school super fast? Then this Honda Civic Type R Wagon just might be the car for you.

While this vehicle is not likely to actually come into existence, it isn't totally out of the question. Cars exist in this segment already, like the VW's 300 horsepower Golf R variant, and SEAT's 280 hp Leon Cupra ST. There is also the Ford Focus ST and a number of less powerful models.

Anyway since this is last generation's Type R, in the sense that they are already working on the next-gen Civic, this is very unlikely to happen.

Looking at take rate numbers of wagons currently and going back a few years will be a good way to gauge the chances this could happen.

But then when you consider what Honda already has that fills in for what a Civic wagon can do, this whole idea gets shot down.

Most companies don't do wagons in North America and I think that says something about how popular they are here according to market research. People would rather buy crossovers now instead of station wagons.

Honda really hasn't indicated doing this at all, and I bet not that many people would end up buying it. But I do think it would be cool to have a Type R wagon. I kinda wish the station wagon would make a comeback.
