I had an HTC One M8 when I first got my 2016 Civic Coupe Ex-T and it worked with Android Auto for a few months but randomly stopped working...then a few days later, my car wouldn't even recognize the phone's Bluetooth. I tried restarting the car's screen system, changing the USB cord, and doing a factory reset on my phone, but it would never work.

I just got a ZTE Axon 7 Mini and I immediately downloaded Android Auto and plugged it into my car. It connected flawlessly and it worked! I unplugged it, charged it in the house, it also did an update while charging, brought it back out to try it out again...doesn't connect. It said the USB connection couldn't work and asked it I wanted to turn it off or disable it. It then lost the Bluetooth connection to the phone. I turned on debugging mode in developer options and got the Bluetooth to connect, but Android Auto still won't work.

Suggestions? I'm thinking it's maybe something with my car instead of the phone? Is there a specific way to get it to connect?

Try to re-pair it.
