Honda Will Offer Manual Shift with 1.5L Turbo Engine on All 2017 Civic Body Styles

It's good news for fans of manual transmissions.

Today at the 2016 New York auto show Honda confirmed that 2017 model year Civics of every body style will offer the 1.5L turbo engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Previously, only a CVT transmission was available with this engine.

Besides whetting our appetites for the missing stick-shift link in the new Civic lineup, Honda’s timing for the new powertrain confirms that of the new hatchback, which is coming for 2017. The Si models, as well as the Type R, will arrive next year.

Wonder how much longer until I can get an EX-T two door coupe with 6MT?
I'd love the hatchback Touring model with 6SPD MT!
When does everyone think the 2017 model will come out? Around September?

September would be a safe bet. The 2017s probably will role down the line the last couple weeks of August.
