"There will be a next step"

Those are the words of Martin Petersson, the mind behind Hondas latest concept machine. Well actually what he said to the folks at Top Gear was, “There will be a next step. It’s been too positive for us to go and complete this project in a basement somewhere, the question is what that next step is.”

Inspired by the long gone RA272 F1 car from 1965, Petersson married that with his day job as a motorcycle designer for Honda. He started from the inside out, rather then working within an exterior silhouette.

“This is the motorcycle approach to it,” he explains. “I knew where the engine had to sit in the package, we knew a backbone frame made sense like a bike and then the seat has to hang from that frame. And step by step, from inside out, you start creating this surprising thing.”

The components inside the Frankfurt concept are the real deal, however the 2&4 doesn't currently run. We would imagine the next step is a dynamic debut and with a power to weight ratio equal to the Bugatti Veyron (523bhp per tonne) it would be one stonking debut...

Can't wait for this thing to make its debut and even more importantly to see it in action. They should take a page out of Fords book on how they promoted the Focus RS and do something cool like that with this, although it's going to take a lot.

OK, this looks like one of the most fun road machines that I have seen in a very long time. Totally hits things like the Polaris Slingshot out of the park. cool that the driver seat is kinda exposed to the road on the one side. Would really add to the excitement.
