Hi,

To all the LX trim owners here....

I am seriously considering purchasing a new 2018 Civic LX sedan in Cosmic Blue and was wondering if the lack of variable speed wiper setting has been a major issue for you? I know the 2016 and 2017 models do not have that feature so I assume it was carried over to 2018? Also, the whole wipe arms and blades look vert goofy and cheap and delicate. Are they just as durable as any other compact car in its class?

Thank you

this is a relatively quiet board for the 10th gen.

you are correct that the 18's don't have variable intermittent wipers. as far as durability...that i can't help you with.

sure you can't swing for the EX? get alot more comforts for $2400.

My Sport Touring has rain sensing wipers and they are pretty unpredictable. Sometimes I am following a car throwing up a lot of water and the wipers make a leisurely swipe across the windshield, even when the sensitivity is turned all the way up. Sometimes when I pull away from a stop the wipers go into MAXIMUM HIGH SPEED FREAKIN' OVERDRIVE like I am trying to drive underwater, even though it is barely raining. I've even had them stay on in a garage for minutes after parking.

Years ago I found a replacement intermittent wiper stalk for one of my old Subarus and was able to swap out the old non-intermittent one for that in the Subaru. I'd even consider doing that with the Honda if it was an option. I like having more control over what my wipers are doing.

One of my biggest dis-likes is the lack of variable speed wipers, my Ridgeline had speed sensitive variable wipers and that was the cats ass, the sport has this and that will be my next Civic.
