LX vs EX

Hi guys,

My mom recently was looking into a new car and was looking at the new civic. We were thinking about getting the LX trim but someone else brought up the EX trim for the added features and we weren't sure if the extra 2k was justified for it. Does anyone think it's worth it to get the EX?

Btw we're in Canada if that makes any difference =) Thanks guys

Hey Sin

Was going to do the same thing I'm glad I didn't decided on an EX-T Coupe (17 inch wheels, 450 watt sound system, Moon roof)
If 2k not an issue go for it
Are you looking at the civic Coupe or the Sedan?
We're looking at the Civic Sedan
Good choice, i've been noticing more and more people considering the sedan this time around than the coupe, a lot of people are saying the coupe is ugly.

The sedan has always sold way more than the coupe, its alot more of a ease of use reason than a looks reason, because the coupe is anything but ugly.

In terms of the OP post, not sure what the Canadian standard features are but here in the US, the differences between LX and EX are pretty substantial, alloy wheels, moon roof, touch screen system, smart key entry... definitely worth the extra money IMO. But it really comes down to a persons personal needs on a car.

EX has always been the sweet spot.

One thing that I did not notice for awhile and I had posted about it before... the LX sedan with the optional "sensing" package has the same instrument cluster as the EX which is a little more colorful.

I think it would be worth the extra $ to get the pushbutton and remote start. I also like the wheels better on the EX.

The LX underbody trays are hard plastic, The EX and above have "flannelized" sound deadening trays.
The rear trail arm ? bushings are hydraulic on the EX not on the LX.
Such a small amount of money,, you think it might make sense to drop those differences to save on inventory.
Honda probably crunched the numbers and found out that they made more by separating the EX and LX than to drop the differences. At least the price difference between the two isn't too bad.
