The article I read said Honda is planning a 1.5T coupe with manual in the future. Probably has the Si gearbox so it's coming later... Well that's just a guess.
The 2016 Civic Coupe will launch with two more powerful and fuel-efficient powertrains, Lower trims receive a new 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC™ engine turning out 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque1 (+15 HP and +9 lb.-ft. vs. 2015 Civic 1.8L) with anticipated EPA fuel-economy ratings of 31/41/35 mpg2 (city/highway/combined) for models equipped with CVT. This engine can also be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission on the lowest trim. Civic Coupe mid to highest trims are powered by a new 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected TURBO – the first-ever turbocharged engine for Civic Coupe – putting out a peak 174 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque3 (+31 HP and +33 lb.-ft. vs. 2015 Civic 1.8L) with anticipated EPA ratings of 31/42/35 mpg2.
Ultimately that's what they're going to want to do, lower down the trims there's a much higher rate of automatic transmission buyers. Probably Si and a trim under it to go manual. The article I read said Honda is planning a 1.5T coupe with manual in the future. Probably has the Si gearbox so it's coming later... its coming for both sedan and coupe with 1.5T... you might be right that its the same gearbox destined for SiThe article I read said Honda is planning a 1.5T coupe with manual in the future. Probably has the Si gearbox so it's coming later... Well that's just a guess.
Doubtful (but wouldn't rule it out). The Si gear ratio will likely be different and optimized for performance over the 1.5T gearbox.Probably has the Si gearbox so it's coming later...
in the pr nonsense they don't actually say you can't get a manual with the 1.5Thehh
what smartie posted is what honda wrote in the press kit. What road and track posted is an inference. And one not totally true. Honda has said that the 1.5T will be getting a manual option next year. Thats why in Hondas press materials they say nothing, but Car and Driver decides they must fill the gaps because gaps are unacceptable...According to Road & Track, yes you can: http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...proof-honda-is-headed-in-the-right-direction/
