I need your help with some research I'm doing.


Will you please go look at your car.
Look close at the rear C pillar Left and Right side.
This area is above the rear windows a few inched back pass the rear glass.


You will need to get it in the light so that the light reflects off this area.
Example stand at the front drivers door and look to down the body to the rear of the car.


What I have found is Mysterious Dents in the Rear C Pillar Left and Right side.
During my research I have found dents / depressions even on new civics at dealers. (never sold).


I would love more data on this issue.

Oh geesh, and I thought these mysterious dents were only on my car. However, is your car the sedan, or the hatchback? My hatchback, on both left and right rear pillars, have raised (kind of look like raised creases) areas a few inches long, and on the passenger side pillar, there is also a slight dent about 2" in diameter. I only owned the car for about a week when I noticed these areas. In fact, I was planning to drive to a dealer this weekend to check out some other Civics to see if they had similar wavey sheet metal issues in the pillars. And I was even going to see if PDR (paintless dent repair) can make them look a little bit better. I just joined this forum today when I saw your posting about this.

Maybe factory stamping problem with their stamping die, before they caught it? I just checked my 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring (bought the end of March 2018), & couldn't see anything like you describe. Maybe I was lucky?

I curious on the outcome of your issue. I leased a 2020 CR-V in May and two weeks later dents appeared on C pillar towards the rear of the vehicle. To date there are twelve on both sides, C pillars only.
