Is it really necessary to cut through the plastics?
Same concern here.
I live in Buffalo, NY - our snow is legendary, but equally so is our use of road salt to keep things safe.
Cutting plastic is going to allow salt-filled snow inside, and it's logically structural metal at these attachment points.
Would be nice if they engineered some cup-shaped plastic or metal washers to seal off the openings after cutting the holes, with this assembly installed into the resulting cupped areas.

The holes are already there on the factory vehicle...so it is probably not something that will affect car rust if the hole is slightly enlarged. Also, it would be easy to just apply some weather stripping to protect the undertray of the car. In fact, if you look at the factory vehicle, there are quite a few spots that could be improved with weather stripping, but it depends on just how far you want to take it. My personal belief it that Honda did a good job engineering the car to last a long time, even in rough/wet conditions.

I had chassis braces on my last car, and the improvement was very noticeable!

Still determining how I'm going to approach this build, but I'll be keeping an eye out on your threads and site for more :)
